The Rucking App Is Here — And It’s Built for Real Ruckers

After months of building, testing, and dragging this thing through real trail miles, the Rucking app is officially live on Android.

This is version 1.0 — lean, fast, and focused. No bloated fitness nonsense. No flashy garbage. Just the tools ruckers and weighted-vest athletes actually use.

Why This App Exists

Rucking burns 2–3x more calories than normal walking, builds real strength, and actually feels like work. But Apple Watch, Google Fit, and most fitness apps still treat it like a casual stroll. They undercount calories badly, which makes people feel like they aren’t doing enough — even when they’re grinding under a 20, 40, or 50 lb load.

I lost 90 lbs rucking with weighted vests and backpacks. That transformation is the reason this app exists. I wanted a way to track rucks accurately — by weight, distance, and effort — and the mainstream tools just weren’t built for it.

So I built the Rucking app and the calculators behind it to do one thing well:

Measure what we’re actually doing out there — with a vest or a pack on.

The app is powered by the same math behind the two main tools on this site — both designed for rucking and weighted vest training with support for either vest or backpack.

Rucking Calorie Calculator

Uses your bodyweight, pack/vest weight, terrain, effort level, and pack type to estimate real rucking calorie burn.

Rucking Weight Loss Calculator

Shows how many days of rucking it will take to reach your goal weight based on your calories, metabolism, ruck load, and effort — again supporting either weighted vest or backpack.

The app brings both of these tools into one place — so you can use them on the trail, at the park, or wherever you ruck without needing a signal.


My Rucking Transformation

This isn’t some corporate fitness app cooked up in a boardroom. It’s built off my own journey — going from overweight and frustrated to lean, strong, and comfortable carrying serious weight every day.
