This Privacy Policy explains how Rucking, Rucking.pro, and the Rucking mobile application (“Rucking,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) handle information.

The Rucking mobile application is operated by PrestonShamblen.com / Rucking.pro. The Android application may be identified by the package name com.ruckingpro.calculator. The Apple version is identified by it’s name “rucking calorie calculator” in the Apple App Store.

1. Rucking Mobile App Privacy

The current version of the Rucking mobile app does not require a user account and does not collect, transmit, store, or retain personal information or workout information on servers operated by Rucking.pro.

The app currently does not maintain:

User accounts
User profiles
Cloud workout history
Server-side workout logs
A customer database
Cloud synchronization of workout information
Server-side storage of calculator entries

We do not have access to a user’s rucking history, calculator entries, weight entries, workout information, or other information entered into the app unless the user separately chooses to communicate that information to us.

2. Information Used and Stored By The App

The app uses information you enter, such as body weight, pack weight, load type, distance, duration, and effort level, to calculate workout estimates and provide tracking features. The iOS app stores preferences and completed workout history on your device. Saved workout details can include dates, distance, duration, estimated calories, elevation gain, pack and body weight, effort settings, average and maximum heart rate when available, and GPS route coordinates. During an active ruck, the app also stores recovery information locally so an interrupted session can be recovered. This information is not limited to temporary use and can remain on your device after you close the app. With your permission, the app uses your iPhone’s precise location during an active ruck to measure distance, elevation changes, and your route, including while the screen is locked or the app is in the background. Route maps use Apple’s MapKit services; Apple’s processing of map requests is governed by Apple’s privacy practices. With your permission, the app reads body weight, heart rate, and date of birth from Apple Health. These readings support workout setup, heart-rate displays, and age-based effort estimates. The app can write completed workouts, distance, and estimated active energy to Apple Health. Calorie and effort values are estimates. Apple Health access can be managed or revoked through Apple’s Health and privacy settings. The Apple Watch companion communicates workout controls, settings, progress, and available heart-rate readings with your paired iPhone. The iPhone supplies GPS route tracking and saves the completed workout. These connected features do not send your workout history or Health data to Rucking.pro servers. Live Activities can display workout statistics on your iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island on supported devices. People who can see your screen may be able to see those statistics without unlocking your phone. You can manage Live Activities through iPhone settings. Optional spoken mile announcements may also be heard by people nearby. Sharing is initiated by you through the system share sheet. The app’s workout-summary sharing feature includes workout statistics; it does not include GPS route coordinates. The recipient or service you select handles shared information under its own practices. If you separately share a screenshot of a route or workout, that image can reveal location or health information visible in it. Rucking.pro does not receive your locally stored workout history, route coordinates, or Apple Health readings unless you separately choose to send information to us, such as in a support request. We do not use Health data for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage. Opening website or affiliate links from the app takes you to services whose website practices are described in the sections below or in their own policies.

3. Data Retention and Deletion for the Mobile App

Rucking.pro does not store or retain personal data submitted to or generated by The iOS app retains local preferences and workout history on your device until that local app data is removed. There is no Rucking.pro account or server-side workout database to delete. To remove the iOS app’s local data, delete the app from your device. Offloading the app retains its documents and data and is not the same as deleting it. Device backups may contain app data and are managed separately through your Apple settings; restoring a backup may restore that data. Workouts and samples already saved to Apple Health are managed separately. Deleting the Rucking app or revoking its Health access does not automatically delete those records. Use the Health app’s data-management controls to remove Health records you no longer want. Information you previously shared with another person or service must be managed with that recipient or service. If you contact Rucking.pro with personal information, the website correspondence and retention provisions below apply to that information.

4. Device Permissions and Your Choices

You can deny or revoke location and Apple Health permissions in the applicable iPhone, Watch, and Health settings. Without the relevant permissions or a supported data source, route tracking, heart-rate information, or Health export may be unavailable. You can still use manual calculator inputs without granting those permissions. You can stop an active ruck from the app or connected Watch controls. You can turn off mile announcements in the app and manage Live Activities in iPhone settings. Revoking permissions limits future access but does not automatically remove information already stored in the app, in Apple Health, in backups, or by a recipient you chose when sharing.

5. Information Collected on the Rucking.pro Website

The Rucking.pro website is separate from the mobile app’s local calculations and functionality.

When someone visits Rucking.pro, website services may automatically process ordinary website and technical information such as:

Browser type
Device type
Approximate geographic region
Referring website
IP address
Website interaction information
Cookies and similar identifiers

This information may be processed by website hosting, analytics, security, advertising, or performance services.

We may also receive information that a visitor voluntarily sends to us, such as:

Name
Email address
Contact-form messages
Emails sent directly to us
Newsletter or subscription information

Information submitted through the Rucking.pro website is not automatically connected to information entered into the Rucking mobile app.

6. Website Analytics

Rucking.pro may use analytics and website-performance services such as:

Hosting and security services

These services may process technical information about website visitors according to their own privacy policies.

We may use aggregate website analytics to understand things such as page traffic, popular content, device types, and general website performance.

Users may restrict or disable cookies through their browser settings.

Rucking.pro does not provide advertisers with a database of users’ rucking workouts, body weight entries, calculator entries, or other information entered into the Rucking app.

Rucking.pro participates in affiliate marketing programs.

Some links on the website may be affiliate links. If a visitor clicks an affiliate link and makes a purchase, Rucking.pro may receive a commission at no additional cost to the visitor.

Affiliate networks or merchants may use cookies or referral identifiers to determine that a visitor was referred by Rucking.pro.

10. Embedded and Third-Party Content

Rucking.pro may contain content or services provided by third parties, including:

YouTube videos
Social-media content
Advertisements
Affiliate links
External websites

Third parties may collect information about interactions with their content according to their own privacy policies.

Rucking.pro is not responsible for the privacy practices of independently operated third-party websites or services.

11. Website Data Retention

Rucking.pro does not intentionally maintain detailed personal profiles of ordinary website visitors.

Website analytics, hosting logs, advertising information, and similar technical information may be retained by the third-party services that process that information according to their own retention policies.

If you voluntarily contact us by email, contact form, or another communication method, we may retain that correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to:

Maintain ordinary business records
Resolve disputes
Meet legal or security obligations

Information under our direct control that is no longer reasonably necessary may be deleted.

We do not sell or rent personal information collected directly by Rucking.pro.

We also do not sell users’ Rucking app workout information because the current app does not transmit that information to us.

13. Security

Because the current Rucking mobile app does not transmit user-entered workout or calculator information to Rucking.pro servers, that information is not maintained in a Rucking.pro online customer database.

For information handled through Rucking.pro, we use reasonable technical and administrative measures intended to protect systems and information under our control.

However, no website, internet transmission, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14. Privacy Choices and Requests

Users may:

Revoke app permissions through their device settings
Uninstall the Rucking app
Disable or restrict browser cookies
Use available Google or Apple privacy controls
Unsubscribe from marketing communications
Request access to or deletion of personal information that Rucking.pro directly controls

Because the current Rucking app does not have user accounts and Rucking.pro does not maintain server-side app user records, there normally will not be mobile-app account information or workout history for us to provide or delete.

15. Children’s Privacy

Rucking and Rucking.pro are not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
